Gab Banal returns to the PBA Developmental League.

HELP is on the way for Marinerong Pilipino as it aims to make a late run to the 2019 PBA D-League playoffs.

Gab Banal, Mike Ayonayon and Jhonard Clarito have been activated for the Skippers last three games in the Foundation Group.

Banal is coming off an MVP season in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Datu Cup, where he averaged 18.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists for Bacoor City Strikers.

He sustained his fine form from the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup, where he led Go for Gold to its maiden title last season.

Ayonayon has proven himself as a knockdown scorer for the San Juan Knights. He suited up in Marinerong Pilipino's season-opener, firing 23 points against Che'Lu Bar and Grill.

Clarito will make his PBA D-League debut. The hero for the San Juan Knights in Game Five of the MPBL Datu Cup Finals, Clarito scored the last six points including the game-winning lay-up that gave the Knights the title.

Skippers coach Yong Garcia is hopeful that the entry of this troika can make a difference for his side as they remain on the outside looking in the group's top four.

Marinerong Pilipino currently holds an even 3-3 card, tied for fifth with Diliman College-Gerry's Grill, who it will take on Thursday.

CEU and Metropac-San Beda, both at 6-1, lead the Foundation Group followed by Valencia City Bukidnon-SSCR (5-1) and Chadao-FEU (4-3).

The Skippers have largely relied on the efforts of Santi Santillan, who averages 15.5 points and 9.3 rebounds this season, as well as the contributions of Anton Asistio, Orlan Wamar, and Kib Montalbo through their first six games this year.
