MARINERONG Pilipino cruised to a 96-84 win over Wangs Basketball-Letran in the PBA D-League Aspirans' Cup on Thursday at the Pasig City Sports Center.
The Skippers found ther groove in the third period and sustained momentum to claim their second straight win - and third in five matches.
Rian Ayonayon led the charge with 14 points, while Billy Robles, Renzo Subido, and Kyle Toth pumped in 12 markers each.
Gab Banal added 10 points.
"Everybody came in with laser focus and executed our gameplan," said Marinerong Pilipino coach Koy Banal.
"We have a long way to go. We are a new team. Compared to the school teams solid na sila. Kami practically new, lot of things to improve on as a team."
The Couriers, on the other hand, absorbed their second straight defeat after winning their first two games.
Bong Quinto fired 22 points in a losing effort for Wangs.
