MAC Belo finished with 41 points to claim the new PBA D-League record for scoring on Monday in Phoenix Petroleum’s loss to Caida Tiles in the Aspirants Cup.

Belo was an efficient 15-of-24 from the field, and 11-of-14 from the free throw line, to beat the old record of 40 points set by Jerramy King of AMA and Allan Mangahas of Cebuana Lhuillier in last year’s Foundation Cup.

King set the old record in a loss to Cagayan Valley, 107-103, in overtime last June 1, 2015 while Mangahas made the mark 10 days later in a semifinal win over Hapee.

The Accelerators lost to Caida Tiles, 108-91, despite Belo making 12 and 14 points, respectively, in the final two quarters of the game.
