ARIS Dionisio turns his focus to helping St. Clare raise its level of play after a short stint with Victoria Sports in the tough PBA D-League.
Victoria Sports did not make the six-team second phase of the tournament after a woeful 2-7 record, but Dionisio is bringing a wealth of experience with him after going up against former pro and aspiring pros in the developmental league.
"Pagkatapos nito, may liga pa kami sa St. Clare. Papa-kundisyon pa rin ako para sa susunod na liga ng D-League [tapos] ta-tryout ako sa iba," said the lanky forward.
The 6-foot-5 Dionisio averaged a double double of 14.63 points and 11.3 rebounds in eight games.
He also normed 2.25 blocks, behind Congolese import Rod Ebondo of Cafe France.
"Dumarating na lang bigla yun. Go hard lang sa ilalim, ganun," he said when told about his double-double averages.
His coach was no longer surprised with his production, saying the hardworking forward used reap the same numbers in NAASCU.
"Yung bata, ever since naglaro sa St. Clare ganyan ginagawa nyan. Lahat ng steals, blocks, assist, ginagawa masipag ang bata," said Victoria coach Jino Manansala, who happens to be Dionisio's mentor in college.
