    Dec 6, 2012

BORACAY Rum ended its awful start to the conference, hacking out a 63-53 win over Jose Rizal University on Thursday for its first victory in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Trinity University of Asia gym in Quezon City.

The Heavy Bombers dropped to 1-4 for ninth place but is only half-a-game ahead of the Waves.

Despite leading by 10 points (19-9) at the end of the first quarter, Boracay Rum saw its lead dwindle to one point after Michael Mabulac's basket, 48-47, near the end of the third period.
