TANDUAY returned from a long break and edged Marinerong Pilipino, 76-74, on Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig .
Lester Alvarez scored 15 points, including a free throw with 3.1 ticks to go after John Lopez was whistled for a technical foul on Adi Santos away from play, giving Tanduay a 75-74 lead.
The Rhum Masters. coming off a 13-day layoff, improved their win-loss record to 2-1, while the Skippers dropped to 1-2.
"I wish we could have played better, but a win is a win. Maybe kailangan namin yung mga ganitong klaseng laro," said Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson.
Jaymo Eguilos added 10 markers and seven rebounds for Tanduay.
Julian Sargent paced the Skippers with 10 markers.
