LEAGUE-leading Blackwater Sports faces a tough test it takes on four-time defending champion NLEX on Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Blue Eagle Gym.

The Elite, at the top of the standings with a 7-1 win-loss slate, face the streaking Road Warriors at 12 p.m. hoping to solidify their hold of the top spot.

Blackwater Sports coach Leo Isaac expressed confidence in the way his players are performing especially after winning over EA Regen Medical Group, 71-67, on Tuesday.

“The way things are going, maganda ang kinikilos ng mga players. If we play disciplined type of basketball both offensively and defensively, we are going to achieve our goals,” said Isaac.

The Road Warriors have won five straight after dropping their first two assignments and are expected to be a tough matchup for the Elite.

NLEX is coming off a 75-66 win over Fruitas last week, but will be without head coach Boyet Fernandez, who joined his NCAA team San Beda in the United States for training.

Fruitas faces Hog’s Breath Café in the first game at 10 a.m. while EA Regen Medical Group takes on Informatics in the 2 p.m. match.

Fruitas (5-3) seeks to stay close to the top two teams when it faces the struggling Razorbacks, who have lost seven of their eight games this conference.

EA Regen (4-3) is favored to bounce back from its loss to Blackwater Sports as they take on Informatics, which is winless in eight games.
