KEVIN Ferrer has signed up to play for Tanduay in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup and will immediately suit up in the Rhum Masters' game against league-leader CafeFrance on Monday.
“We’re leaving no stones unturned, so to speak. An available player of Kevin’s caliber, I believe, we need to grab that opportunity,” said Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson in confirming Ferrer's signing.
Chongson said he is not worried about disrupting the chemistry of the team at this stage of the conference with the entry of Ferrer, the former University of Santo Tomas star and Gilas cadets mainstay.
The Rhum Masters are currently in fourth place with a 6-3 record heading into the match against CafeFrance.
“To re-work our team chemistry and balance, that’s the challenge right now but obviously in this scenario, the good has and will definitely outweigh any bad. Getting Kevin is sort of a no-brainer,” said Chongson.
CafeFrance occupies first place with a 7-1 card following their overtime win against Phoenix last week. They slug it out at 6 p.m.
Blustar (1-8) and AMA (2-5) clash in the first game at 4 p.m.
