RACAL kept its record unblemished with an 84-80 victory over a hard-fighting Tanduay on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.
The Tile Masters leaned on Allan Mangahas, Rey Nambatac and Kent Salado in the final stretch to pull off the escape act and stay atop the standings with a 5-0 win-loss record.
Trailing by six in the fourth period, Racal used a 17-6 run capped by Jamil Gabawan's free throws to take control, 82-78.
Salado sealed the win with a pair of free throws with 13.7 ticks to go.
Mangahas and Nambatac topscored for Racal with 16 points apiece, while Salado scored 15 markers including six in the payoff period.
Sydney Onwubere added 13 points.
"We were not able to stop Paul Sanga. Sabi ko let's play our game, don't panic, and trust your teammates," said Racal coach Gerry Codinera.
Sanga led the Rhum Masters with 25 points, 17 in the first half, while Bong Quinto scored 21.
