ST. CLARE College-Virtual Reality fended off Che'Lu Bar and Grill, 82-77, for its second win in the 2019 PBA D-League on Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Junjie Hallare caught fire in the second half, scoring 12 of his 19 points in the final two frames, on top of six steals and five rebounds as the Saints subdued the Revellers late.
Irven Palencia came off the bench and added 13 points, including the game-sealing freebies with 30 seconds left as St. Clare completed the upset.
Mohammed Pare churned out a solid statline of 10 points and 16 rebounds, as John Ambuludto added nine points and seven boards as the Saints rose to 2-0 in the Aspirants Group.
From 63-all, the Saints staged a 13-3 run capped off by an Ambuludto layup that made it a 10-point game, 76-66 with 3:50 remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Revellers rallied back in the game, cutting the lead down to just three, 80-77 with three freebies from Jhaps Bautista, but Pare delivered the dagger layup with 10.7 ticks to spare.
Bautista led Che'Lu with 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists as Chris Dumapig and Rey Suerte both had 14 points.
The Revellers dropped to 1-1.
