JIOVANNI Jalalon scored 28 points, Jackson Corpuz scored the go-ahead basket, and Derulo Accelero won for the second straight time, defeating Hog’s Breath Café, 82-78, on Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO gym in Quezon City.
Jalalon also had nine rebounds, seven assists, and four steals, as the Oilers (2-6) moved into a tie for ninth place with the Razorbacks in the standings.
Corpuz scored off a Jalalon assist with 34.4 seconds left in the fourth to give the Oilers a 79-78 lead after an eight-point deficit at the end of the third.
The Razorbacks committed a five-second inbound violation on the next possession as King Importante scored after another assist from Alalon with 14 ticks left.
It was a big follow-up win after Derulo Accelero defeated Big Chill last week.
Michael Juico added 13 points while Corpuz added 12 for the Oilers, who outscored the Razorbacks, 28-16, in the fourth after trailing, 62-54.
Jalalon started the Oilers’ comeback, scoring the team’s first eight points in the fourth including back-to-back triples to cut the deficit to five points, 66-61, and set up the thrilling finish.
