WITH the two top teams in the Developmental League colliding, Jimmy Alapag simply had to be at the stands.
The recently retired PBA player and newly-installed Talk ’N Text team manager was on hand to see the battle of unbeaten squads Hapee and Cagayan Valley on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Hapee has some of the best amateur talents including two-time UAAP MVP Bobby Ray Parks, Garvo Lanete, Troy Rosario, while Cagayan Valley has PBA D-League top draft pick Moala Tautuaa, a Fil-Tongan.
“It’s part of my job nowadays to really see what the talents that will be coming in the PBA,” Alapag told reporters on Thursday.
Alapag, also an assistant coach for Gilas Pilipinas, was joined by other Talk ’N Text officials led by Ricky Vargas.
“I thought today would be a great opportunity because there are a lot of great players here,” said Alapag.
