    Jett-powered Erasers book second win in row

    JETT Vidal and Macky Acosta conbined for four of the five three-pointers Erase XFoliant made in a key third-quarter surge on the way to a 79-68 victory over Informatics on Monday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Arellano gym.

    Vidal and Acosta had 19 and 14 points, respectively, and led the Erasers in outscoring the Icons, 24-12, in the third period. With the win, the Erasers hiked their record to 2-1 win-loss after an opening-day setback to NLEX.

    “Kailangang manalo nang manalo para may puhunan,” said Erase XFoliant head coach Aric Del Rosario.

    Acosta hit back-to-back triples while Vidal and George Allen buried a three-pointer each in a 9-0 wind-up to the third period that gave the Erasers a 64-45 advantage entering the fourth period.

    Nate Matute added 13 points while Marlon Gomez had 10 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists for the Erasers.

    Newcomer Informatics, which fell to 0-2, was led by Moncrief Rogado with 19 points. The Icons lost despite a 56-50 advantage off the boards.

    Erase XFoliant (79) – Vidal 19, Acosta 14, Matute 13, Gomez 10, Allen 8, Thompson 5, Mendoza 4, Alano 4, Arboleda 2, Babayemi 0, Vijandre 0, Stevens 0.

    Informatics (68) – Rogado 18, Cruz 17, Bautista  8, Hayes 8, Lituania 7, Mangahas  4, Benitez 4, Carlos 2, Sanghera 0, Marquez 0.

    Quarterscores: 21-22, 40-33, 64-45, 79-68.
