JERON Teng made a strong first impression after his initial practice with AMA Online Education as the Titans kicked off their build-up for the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.
AMA coach Mark Herrera said the former La Salle star attended the team’s practice on Wednesday night where he showed up in shape and without any signs of rust despite the holidays.
“Pati mga perimeter niya, sure ball gaya nung ginawa niya nung Game Two [of the UAAP Season 79 finals],” said Herrera in describing Teng during practice.
The team is set for a break but resumes practice on January 3, according to Herrera.
Teng, the UAAP Season 79 Finals MVP in La Salle's sweep over Ateneo, was AMA’s top overall pick in the recent PBA D-League draft and the former King Archer is set to strut his wares in the developmental league to be eligible for the PBA draft next year.
Aside from Teng, AMA has also brought in Juami Tiongson to their training pool. The former Ateneo guard, who played for Blackwater in the PBA and suited up for Blustar Malaysia Dragons in the previous conference, is looking to break into the AMA lineup for the Aspirants Cup.
