JERON Teng will return to the PBA D-League Foundation Cup donning a different jersey - and armed with new-found confidence.
Teng, who failed to lead AMA to the semifinals of the Aspirants' Cup, has made a smooth transition to rookie ballclub Flying V Thunder where he is reunited with former teammates Thomas Torres, Joshua Webb, and Jovet Mendoza.
Aside from that, he will be hooking up with former RP Youth coach Eric Altamirano.
"Mas confident ako this conference," he said on Wednesday when the team was unveiled at the Filoil Flying V Centre prior to its guest stint in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.
"I think we got a good squad in Flying V and kasama ko doon yung former teammates ko, si Thomas (Torres), si Jovet (Mendoza), si (Joshua) Webb, so familiarity with the players, may advantage na kami, We know we have to work hard for it so positive lang kami."
"Syempre I know that I’m in good hands dahil I’ve known Coach Eric since I was in high school, so I know how his system works. I think I’ll do well in his system and I’m confident that we’ll achieve greater things this conference," he added.
With a loaded squad reinforced by former Blue Eagle Eric Salamat, Mike Gamboa, Jan Colina, Aris Dionisio, among other, Teng said their goal is no less than a championship.
Other members of the team are Luis Sinco, Gab Banal, and Oda Tampus.
"Syempre lahat kami are very competitive and we want nothing less than a championship," said the former La Salle star, adding the team has been practicing for three weeks now.
"With our lineup, I think kaya naman. We have lots of things to work on lang and sana our team chemistry goes well also."
