JERON Teng may have worn a different jersey in his second PBA D-League conference with a new team, but he showed his same unstoppable form.

Teng put up an explosive performance in Flying V's nail-biting 86-84 win over Cignal in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup debut for the new team on Thursday.

The former La Salle star erupted with 33 points, none bigger than the game-winner against the Aspirants' Cup champions that gave the Thunder a morale boost to start their D-League campaign.

But despite his heroics, Teng deflected credit as he pointed to Flying V’s wealth of scoring options behind the team’s victory at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

"Feel ko mas marami kaming options ngayon kesa sa previous team ko. Medyo nabawasan attempts ko. I'm here to give my best every time, nagkataon lang na umabot sa ganun," said Teng, who played for AMA Online Education last conference.

"Sa team nga namin, medyo marami kaming options so di ko na pinipilit talaga. I don't force shots anymore because I have great guys who can shoot. It’s really more of team play now," he added.

Having coach Eric Altamirano on the sidelines also played a key factor, as Teng admitted that the Flying V mentor has always brought out the best in him.

"Nakikita nya strengths ko. Feel ko with coach Eric, lumalabas talaga laro ko kasi he gives me the confidence to play. I really like his system," he said.

The Thunder, though, still have a long way to go, said Teng.

"A win is a win. But we can't really get overconfident because our goal this conference is not just winning the first game," he said. "We really have to stay focused and keep our eyes on the prize and continue to work hard."
