    Title bid much tougher this time for Che'Lu as 20 teams battle in D-League

    PRESSURE is mounting on Che'Lu Bar and Grill to follow up on its pair of runner-up finishes last year.

    "Syempre yung management, mataas ang expectation nila. Twice kaming nasa finals na one win away, panalo na. So ine-expect nila na umabot ulit kami doon," said coach Stevenson Tiu.

    But the veteran mentor admits that earning that return trip to the titular series won't be an easy one given the tough competition in store this upcoming PBA D-League season.

    "Depende yun sa availability ng players na makukuha natin at sa kung sino ang makakatapat sa groupings. I think it's much harder than the previous conferences na nilaruan natin. Mas mahirap ito," said Tiu,

    Twenty teams are out to make a splash in what is the biggest field the developmental ranks has seen, making the Revellers' climb to the championship much tougher.

    Foundation Cup MVP Jeff Viernes is back in the fold for Che'Lu, and joining him are veterans Jessie Collado, JayR Taganas, Stephen Siruma and Jhaps Bautista.

    Sean Manganti, the fourth overall pick in the past PBA D-League Draft, is also aiming to make his mark with the Revellers, along with Cesafi MVP Rey Suerte with him.

    Former Rain or Shine guard JK Casino bolsters the point for Che'Lu, as Leo Gabo of Mapua and Cris Dumapig of Basilan Steel complete the team.
