JAY-R Taganas posted another all-around effort to steer AMA University to its second straight win, a 97-89 whipping of Bread Story-Lyceum on Monday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the JCSGO Gym.
Taganas had another double-double of 15 points and 18 rebounds as the Titans evened their record at 3-3.
The former San Beda stalwart also had seven assists, four steals, and two blocks.
The Titans actually held a commanding 33-13 lead at the end of the first period, but found themselves threatened at 93-88 with under a minute to go.
The lead fortunately, was too much to overcome for Bread Story, allowing AMA to escape with the win.
“Our lack of experience showed. But I thought the guys also showed some character down the stretch,” said AMA coach Mark Herrera.

Bread Story slipped to a 2-4 win-loss record.
