HE was a non-factor in the first two games of the PBA D-League Aspirants's Cup finals, but Javee Mocon saved his best for last.

Mocon erupted for 25 points in a breakout that couldn't have come at a better time for Cignal-San Beda, which came out on top in a thriller of a do-or-die game, 81-78, over Racal on Thursday.

The versatile forward particularly came up huge in the clutch, scoring 11 straight in the final stretch to put the Hawkeyes on top for good. He also had seven rebounds and two steals.

The incoming fourth year San Beda cager admitted he felt a sense of urgency after his team trailed by as much as 13 points early on.

"Wala na, I got to give it my all and we had to go all out na nun," said Mocon, who was averaging 3.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and a block entering Game Three.

But he was quick to play down his stellar outing, saying the team simply refused to lose with the championship on the line, citing significant contributions from Jason Perkins, Robert Bolick, and Pamboy Raymundo.

Perkins scattered 21 points, while Bolick and Raymundo combined for 27 points.

"Pero actually, hindi lang ako e. Lahat kami biglang nag-click, sila Jason, sila Pamboy, lahat nag-click," he said.

"Tapos pati yung chemistry lumabas pati yung depensa. Si (Alfred) Batino din. Nandiyan siya parati para sa amin. Doing the dirty work, depensa niya kanina kay (Joseph) Gabayni. He made the crucial stops and crucial rebounds sa amin," he added.

With an NCAA title and his first D-League championship, Mocon is in naturally high spirits and hopes the team continues to strive for more.

"Sobrang saya. First season, first championship, sana magtuloy-tuloy pa," he said.
