COACH Boyet Fernandez’s instructions were simple: get open and shoot. And though it’s easier said than done, Jason Perkins appreciates the confidence shown by the veteran coach to him and the rest of the Cignal San Beda squad.
“Coach Boyet encouraged us. He said shoot it when we're open, and it fell,” said Perkins.
The Hawkeyes managed to pull off victory by three points over Tanduay to level the semis series, and now try to seal a spot in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup finals when the teams clash in the semis decider on Tuesday.

“The loss helped and showed us what to work on and what adjustments to make," he added.
“It made us a better team," said the former La Salle forward, whose team racked up eight straight victories before bowing to a battle-tested Rhum Masters in Game One of the semifinals.
"I love these kind of games. I think we're good. Everyone seems really excited."
Perkins showed the way for the Hawkeyes with 15 points, including back-to-back triples in the final stretch that put them on top for good, 83-80.
The San Beda-Tanduay game starts at 5 p.m. at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig after the 3 p.m. match between Racal and Cafe France.
