JAMES Canlas and Calvin Oftana got things going for Metropac-San Beda early on as it cruised to a 75-51 victory over Chadao-FEU to get back to its winning ways on Thursday in the 2019 PBA D-League at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Canlas and Oftana combined for 22 points in the first quarter to gain a 27-11 headstart for the Movers and never looked back, taking a lead as big as 24 points, 57-33 early in the fourth period.
Oftana finished with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, as Canlas wound up with 15 points, 11 coming in the opening frame, on top of two boards, two assists and two steals.
Clint Doliguez came off the bench and added 11 points and four rebounds for the Movers.
"Chinallenge ko lang yung players ko. I told them our character will be tested today after we lost badly to CEU," said coach Boyet Fernandez.
"We know FEU is a strong team. We're just lucky they probably woke up in the wrong side of the bed."
Metropac-San Beda rose to 3-1 in the Foundation Group, as Chadao-FEU dropped to 2-3 in the standings.
No one cracked double digits in scoring for the Tamaraws, with Wendell Comboy topping his side with seven points.
