GO for Gold gained steam in the fourth period to pull away against Perpetual, 81-69, in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup on Tuesday at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
J-Jay Alejandro led the way with 23 points built on five triples to go with five rebounds and four assists for the Scratchers, who arrested a two-game skid to improve to a 2-2 record.
Clement Leutcheu had 14 points and eight rebounds, while Jerwin Gaco added 11 markers, five boards and three assists.
Justin Gutang also came through with 11 points along with nine rebounds and four assists, the last was to a streaking Alejandro for the final score.
The Scratchers turned a slim 59-55 lead into a breakaway at the halfway mark of the fourth period after building a 76-64 lead with still 4:32 remaining.
The Altas tried to retaliate but their efforts proved to be futile as they ended up absorbing their second loss in three outings.
"Hopefully ito na yung stepping stone namin all throughout the tournament," Alejandro said after the match.
Rey Peralta paced Perpetual with 18 points.
