HOG’S Breath Café shot poorly in the first quarter but quickly found its rhythm for an 86-72 victory over struggling Derulo Accelero on Tuesday at the Blue Eagle Gym to keep its record unblemished in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup.

The Razorbacks scored their seventh win in as many games to remain on top of the team standings ahead of closest pursuer Big Chill (7-1), which defeated Arellano-Air21 in the first game.

Hog’s Breath won despite shooting just 4-of-20 in the first for a 9-6 lead entering the second canto.

Head coach Caloy Garcia said injuries to regular starters Francis Allera (foot) and Ali Austria (flu) contributed to the slow start.

“We shot poorly in the first quarter because we had a last minute change in our starting five. But the good thing about the players is that they never lost their focus on defense,” said Caloy Garcia.

Philip Paniamogan had 24 points, including 4-of-9 from behind the arc, while Kevin Racal chipped in 20 points for the Razorbacks, who led by 76-54 in the fourth period.
