HOG’S Breath Café seeks to end its slump when it goes up against Boracay Rum in the resumption of the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on Monday at the Arellano Gym.
The Razorbacks-Waves match is at 4 p.m. in the second game on the first playdate of the new year.
After winning seven straight games to start the conference, the Razorbacks are now looking to snap a two-game losing skid after suffering defeats to Jumbo Plastic Linoleum and Café France before the Christmas break.
Hog’s Breath, coached by Caloy Garcia, is facing a Boracay Rum team that won two straight games before the Christmas break upping its record to 4-5 win-loss.
Boracay Rum coach Lawrence Chongson said his team continued practicing during the holidays in hopes of improving their chances of a quarterfinal spot.
“We kept practicing even during the holidays to keep the guys in game shape. Right now we’re not looking at the wins and losses. We’ll just try to win as many games as we can and see what happens,” Chongson said.
In the first game, winless National University-Banco De Oro takes on the Air21-Arellano Chiefs at 2 p.m.
The Bulldogs are aiming for their first win in seven outings against the Chiefs, who are also struggling with a 1-6 slate.
