JOSEPH Terso delivered the killer blows as Hog’s Breath Café finally notched its first win in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup with a 99-95 overtime victory over Boracay Rum on Tuesday at the Meralco Gym.
Terso scored a three-pointer with 23.8 seconds left in overtime to seal the win, 97-93, for the Razorbacks, who took their first win after suffering three straight defeats.
The triple by Terso capped a 10-3 finishing kick after Hog’s Breath trailed, 90-87, with 3:41 left in overtime.
Terso, who finished with 16 points, also shone in regulation when he scored six straight points that gave the Razorbacks an 86-82 lead with 31.2 seconds left only for Mark Belo to hit four free throws to force overtime.
Hog’s Breath Café coach Mike Buendia, who was elevated to the post after Caloy Garcia took a consultant role, also claimed his first D-League win.
“Late kami nag-start,” said Buendia about the winless start to the conference. “We formed our team two weeks before the opening. Hindi pa kami nag-jell after we lost four players and got four new players.”
Paul Sanga had a team-high 17 points while Ford Ruaya added 13 points and seven rebounds for Hog’s Breath.
Boracay Rum dropped to 2-2 with Belo scoring a game-high 22 points in a losing effort.
