OLA Adeogun, Baser Amer and four other San Beda Red Lions try to breathe life into Hapee’s sagging D-League campaign after being given the green light to see action for the Fresh Fighters in the Foundation Cup.
Team manager Bernard Yang expressed elation over the recent development after Adeogun, Amer, and Art de la Cruz were allowed by San Beda officials, led by team manager Jude Roque and head coach Jamike Jarin, to return to the developmental league.
Also returning are JP Mendoza, Ryusei Koga, and Michole Sorela, giving Hapee more player options.
The Lions took a leave from the team to train in Las Vegas as part of their preparations for NCAA Season 91, and Hapee struggled to a 2-3 win-loss slate.
“We’re very happy that Mr. Roque and coach Jamike allowed their key players to play with us again,” said Yang. “With the return of San Beda players, I am certain we can recover.”
The six San Beda players will start playing for the squad on Monday against Café France, second in the team standings with a 4-1 win-loss slate.
“With San Beda players, we have that cohesiveness. I’m not saying that the players we took to replace them were not good pero iba na ’yung may experience,” Yang said.
Hapee is eyeing a second straight crown after beating Cagayan Valley during the Aspirants Cup.
