HAPEE hopes to claim its first win in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup as it battles LiverMarin on Monday at the JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.
In its first game since winning the Aspirants Cup last month, Hapee struggled in its Foundation Cup debut as the Fresh Fighters went on to lose Jumbo Plastic Linoleum.
The Fresh Fighters try to bounce back in the 1 p.m. match against the Guardians.
Hapee coach Ronnie Magsanoc said, prior to the Jumbo Plastic game, the Fresh Fighters only practiced twice as a team due to some of their players also practicing with the Gilas cadet pool.
Still, Magsanoc said the defeat is not an excuse to perform poorly against the Giants.
“No excuses dahil ’yun na ’yung situation namin,” Magsanoc said. “It’s a different team but we have to be better.”
Tanduay Light takes on AMA University at 11 a.m.
Both teams hold a 1-1 win-loss slate and are coming off defeats.
After Monday’s doubleheader, the Foundation Cup takes a respite for the Holy Week and returning next Monday at the San Juan Arena.
