HAPEE goes for the sweep of the 2015 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup finals series against Cagayan Valley in Game Two on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Fresh Fighters are looking to win a title in their maiden stint in the developmental league
The match starts at 3 p.m.
Ola Adeogun and Troy Rosario combined for 37 points in the 82-74 Game One win on Monday, avenging their 80-77 loss in the elimination round and the two big men are again expected to deliver.
Hapee coach Ronnie Magsanoc said he is expecting a tough fightback from Cagayan Valley.
“It will be much harder on Thursday but I’m hopeful they will continue to hold the forth for us,” said Magsanoc said.
While Adeogun and Rosario came up with most of the points for the Fresh Fighters, Magsanoc also cited Scottie Thompson and Baser Amer for leading the charge in the backcourt the series opener.
“Scottie and Baser also gave us a big lift. Hopefully we could slow them (Cagayan) down again,” said Magsanoc.
Cagayan Valley coach Alvin Pua, meanwhile, hopes that his wards will find their stroke in Game Two.
In the series opener, the Rising Suns converted only 1 of 22 attempts from three-point range, a far cry from the 13 they hit in Game Three of the semifinals against Cebuana Lhuillier to seal the trip to the title series.
“Hindi kami kumonekta sa outside shots namin, Nung hindi nila nakuha yung rhythm nila, siguro na-upset na rin,” said Pua.
