ALVIN Padilla remains positive about Cebuana Lhuillier’s chances despite losing to NLEX in Game One of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup semifinal series.

Padilla scored 15 points, three rebounds, and three steals during the series opener which the Gems lost, 60-70, last Thursday.

The setback had the Gems on the verge of elimination as the multi-titled Road Warriors go for a sweep of the series on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Yet despite the loss, Padilla said the Gems remain in high spirits as the team gave the Road Warriors all they could handle until the end.

“Positive lang. Lagi kaming naniniwala na mananalo kasi lumalaban kami para sa team, sa family namin, at para sa lahat,” said the former University of the Philippines stalwart.

Padilla admitted though emotions got the better of the Gems during the highly-emotional series opener.

“Binigay naman namin lahat. Pangit lang siguro mga tawag ng referees. Emotion namin masyadong nag-init sa loob na naging tight ‘yung approach namin. Kaya naging pangit laro namin,” he said.

Padilla was complemented by Gab Banal with 13 points, while Riego Gamalinda added 11 a losing effort for Cebuana Lhuillier.
