GAMBOA Coffee Mix St. Clare scored its first win in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup, beating Batangas-EAC, 104-81, on Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Trevis Jackson led the Coffee Lovers with 30 points and four rebounds, while Mohammed Pare had 18 points, 11 boards, three steals and two assists.
John Ambulodto added 13 markers and nine boards as Gamboa evened its record at 1-1.
The Coffee Lovers saw a 15-point halftime lead trimmed to five in the third, 52-57, but it didn't take long before they regained their groove to take a 81-59 lead to the fourth quarter.
"Medyo mabibigat yun mga school based na pumasok dito. One game at a time lang kami. Every game bigay lang namin yung best namin," said Gamboa coach Jinino Manansala.
Batangas, which dropped its second straight game, was paced by Chris Dela Peña's 14 points.
