FLYING V stakes its unblemished slate when the Thunder take on Racal on Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The 5 p.m. match will be an acid test for the red-hot Thunder, who seek to extend their winning run to five while adding to the woes of the Aspirants' Cup runner up.
The Thunder are coming off an 83-78 win over veteran-laden Marinerong Pilipino.
“I’m sure, all teams are now targeting our back,” said Flying V coach Eric Altamirano, who will again lean on Jeron Teng and Gab Banal.
"Our next games are going to be very tough, so it was important that we were able to meet the challenge," he said.
"Our character is showing na even though we have a big deficit, hindi nasisiraan ng loob ang players and we’re sticking together."
Racal, meanwhile is looking to halt a two-game skid.
Following a shocking 93-84 loss to Wangs Basketball, Racal coach Jerry Codinera remains optimistic the team led by Marlon Gomez and Roider Cabrera will be able to address the problems.
“I know na struggling kami. Kaya what we’re trying to do is keep the balance with the changes that we have," said Codinera, whose team dropped to a 2-2 record. "Hopefully, maganda na ang chemistry namin when we face Flying V.
The Couriers (3-3) battles struggling Zark's Burger (1-5) in the 3 p.m. game.
