EVEN after setting a new record for most triple doubles and helping his team complete an elimination-round sweep, Flying V ace Jeron Teng is keeping his feet on the ground.
"Nagkataon lang," said Teng with a smile in the aftermath of a 116-101 win over Batangas in their last elims game on Tuesday.
Teng put up yet another impressive outing with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists where he and theThunder were able to make their respective marks in D-League history.
The former La Salle star is the first player to rack up three - not to mention consecutive - triple doubles, surpassing the two by Mike Tolomia.
Flying V, on the other hand, became the fourth team to pull off such feat after the NLEX teams in the 2012 and 2014 Foundation Cups, respectively, and Cagayan Valley in the 2015 Aspirants' Cup.
But he knows there's more room for improvement for him and the team.
"Syempre it's a good thing coming into playoffs, [but] we're still peaking," he said.
"Even though wala kaming talo, we're still continuously learning. We'll see when we get there."
For now, the Thunder will try to stay sharp before the semifinals as they await the victor between Batangas and Centro Escolar University.
"We have to get back to practice right away and prepare for the upcoming games," he said.
