FLYING V completed a sweep of the elimination round with a 116-101 victory over Batangas,on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Thunder became only the fourth team to score the pull off such feat, after NLEX squads in the 2012 and 2014 Foundation Cups and Cagayan Valley in the 2015 Aspirants' Cup.
Jeron Teng posted his third triple double of the tournament with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as the Thunder enter the semifinals with a 10-0 record.
Teng is the first player in the D-League to post three triple doubles, surpassing the two by former MVP Mike Tolomia.
Thomas Torres topscored for the Thunder with 26 points, making 6 of 6 shots from beyond the arc including two in the waning seconds.
Eric Salamat added 22 markers and six boards.
"We're happy were able to get it done but I'll be happier if we win it all the way. Focus namin ngayon is the playoffs," said Flying V coach Eric Altamirano.
The Batangas side that now has Robby Celiz and Leo Avenido, from also-rans Zark’s Burger and Gamboa Coffee, respectively, dropped to 6-4.
Batangas will face twice-to-beat Centro Escolar University in the quarterfinals, which begin on Thursday.
Celiz tallied 15 points, Cedric De Joya scored 14, while CJ Isit had 13 for Batangas.
