DAVON Potts will suit up for Cignal in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup - but for only seven games.
Cignal team manager Borgie Hermida confirmed the news to SPIN.ph less than a week before the start of the season-ending conference.
Hermida said a special draft was held on Tuesday, but the 10 other teams passed on the San Beda cager, who didn't go through the annual draft last December.
"Yes he will play with us," Hermida said.
To qualify for the PBA draft this year, the Fil-American guard needs to play in seven more games in the D-League before the NCAA eligibility meeting set on June 28.
An NCAA rule prohibits players from suiting up in other leagues once the meeting starts.
For a team seeking to complete a season sweep, Hermida said Potts was a welcome addition to a lineup headed by Jason Perkins, Pamboy Raymundo, and Harold Arboleda.
Hermida also said Dan Sara and Raymar Jose, fresh from a stint in the ABL with the Kaohsiung Truth, are also in the Hawkeyes roster.
