CAFÉ France clobbered Wangs Basketball, 90-72, on Thursday to reach the semifinals of the 2016 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Samboy de Leon scored 15 points, Carl Bryan Cruz added 13 and Mon Abundo came up with 11 markers for the Bakers.
“They will not give us the game, so we really have to get it from them. Kailangan naming pukpukin kasi I want everyone healthy for the semis," said Café France coach Egay Macaraya.
The top-seeded Bakers started the game with a 19-0 run and never gave the Couriers a chance, extending the lead to 24 points, 65-41, in the third.
“They tried to limit Wangs noong first quarter. Kung pwede lang ma-zero, i-zero na nila. They want to win and they're going for the championship,” he said.
Café France, champion of last year’s Foundation Cup, will face the winner of the quarterfinal matchip between QRS Jam and Tanduay.
The Bakers outrebounded Wangs, 52-34 and scored 28 points from Wangs’ 24 turnovers.
Mark Romero had 12 points, while Gwane Capacio scored 10 for Wangs.
