Blackwater Sports defeated RnW Pacific Pipes, 76-69, Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City to advance to the semifinals of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
Robby Celiz had 12 points, Jeric Fortuna added 10 points and Kelly Nabong grabbed 12 rebounds as the Elite set up a showdown with defending champion NLEX Road Warriors in the best-of-three semifinals.
After Blackwater Sports trailed by one point, 38-39, the Elite grabbed the lead for good by outscoring the Steelmasters, 21-10.
Jeric Teng scored 13 points while Raymond Aguilar poured in 12 points for the Steelmasters, who failed to overcome Blackwater Sports’ twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
