CJ PEREZ added the D-League Aspirants Cup MVP trophy to his growing collection, his second top individual title in months after being named the top player of NCAA Season 93.
The Zark’s-Lyceum star received the trophy before Game Two of the Aspirants Cup finals on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena, reaffirming his status as one of the rising stars in the amateur ranks.
Perez is also part of the Gilas cadets squad that is competing in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup.
In his maiden stint in the PBA D-League, Perez is posting solid numbers of 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.9 steals for the Jawbreakers.
Perez helped Zark’s-LPU advance to the Aspirants Cup finals even though the Jawbreakers finished the regular season as the sixth seed.
Perez beat out teammate Jaycee Marcelino, Samboy De Leon and Allyn Bulanadi of Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian, Rian Ayonayon of Marinerong Pilipino and Jerrick Ahanmisi of Akari-Adamson.
