CIGNAL looks to bounce back from an opening day debacle as the Hawkeyes battle the Tanduay Rhum Masters on Thursday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
Coming off a loss to Flying V, coach Boyet Fernandez is hoping the Hawkeyes find their groove in time for the 5 p.m. match at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
It won't be a walk in the park for the Aspirants' Cup champions, said Fernadez.
"Tanduay is a very strong team and they have a solid lineup, so we'll have our hands full," said Fernandez.
"Nangangapa pa kami but hopefull we can accelerate the process for we have to play another six games in three weeks. It's tough but we'll find a way," he added.
The Rhum Masters, on the other hand, are raring to exact revenge on the team that eliminated them in the semifinals last conference.
"Pero sila rin itong nag-eliminate sa amin doon sa semis ng nakaraang conference kaya meron din kaming axe to grind laban sa kanila. I would want nothing more than a payback in that game,” said Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson.
Chongson will lean on his veterans Jerwin Gaco and Lester Alvarez. His team will also be reinforced by former AMA Online Education slotman Jay-R Taganas.
