CHE'LU Bar and Grill hopes to stay in the 2019 PBA D-League playoff race when it wraps up its elimination-round schedule against lowly Family Mart-Enderun Monday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
It's a must-win for the Revellers, who hold a 5-3 record in the Aspirants Group.
A victory doesn't guarantee Che'Lu advancing, as the Revelers hope the quotient would somehow favor them. That's why coach Stevenson Tiu wants to see the Revellers bring their A-game in the 4 p.m. game.
"We need our players to play their role. Di namin nakuha yun sa first part ng tournament so right now, yun ang challenge. Kailangan win or lose, we just give our best and hope for the best," he said after his side's 115-77 decimation of AMA last May 9.
Che'Lu will lean on Rey Suerte, Jeff Viernes and Jhaps Bautista as the team looks to stretch its streak win streak to three.
On the other hand, Family Mart-Enderun wants to play the spoiler role, especially after nabbing its breakthrough win, a 116-94 trouncing of AMA last Thursday, for a 1-6 slate.
"Hopefully, we'll carry the momentum," said coach Pipo Noundou as the Titans bank on Valandre Chauca and ex-pros Marvin Hayes and Fonso Gotladera to derail the Revellers' postseason aspirations.
In the curtain-raiser, SMDC-NU (3-5) seeks a strong finish in the Foundation Group when it takes on Perpetual (2-6) at 2 p.m.
