CENTRO Escolar University seeks to extend its Foundation Group lead when it takes on winless CD14 Designs-Trinity University of Asia in the 2019 PBA D-League Monday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
The Scorpions are unbeaten in four games, their latest victim Valencia City Bukidnon-SSCR, 71-64, almost three weeks ago.
CEU and Trinity face off at 11 a.m. before Aspirants Group cellar-dwellers McDavid and Family Mart-Enderun, both 0-4, clash at 1 p.m.
The Scorpions’ Senegalese big man Maodo Malick Diouf set a new PBA D-League record with 30 rebounds, while scoring 21 in the game against Valencia City.
Diouf is averaging 16.25 points, 22 rebounds and 2.5 blocks.
But for all of the Scorpions' brilliance, they have been one of the most wasteful teams in the league with 20.5 turnovers per game.
"We can’t afford to make mistakes because for us, we have to take care of the ball and just continue to play better defense," said CEU coach Derrick Pumaren.
CD14 Designs-Trinity will bank on AJ Vitug, Michael Canete and new recruit John Tayongtong.
The White Stallions’ was at the hands of Marinerong Pilipino, 91-72, two weeks ago.
