    Batangas fights back from 22 points down to beat Wangs in Aspirants Cup

    BATANGAS erased a 22-point deficit and beat Wangs, 97-96, on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

    Batangas went on a furious 27-4 run capped by Yutien Andrada’ putback off Joseph Sedurifa's miss in the dying seconds.

    Batangas improved to a 2-4 card while handing the Couriers their fifth loss in six games.

    Cedrick de Joya had 19 points, while Sedurifa had 18 points and 11 rebounds.

    Andrada finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Batanguenos.

    "I challenged the players at the half, and asked them 'wala ba kayong mga pride?' Good thing na-reward naman effort namin in the end," said Batangas coach Eric Gonzales.

    John Tambeling scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half where the Couriers led by as many as 22 points, but wound up scoreless in the payoff period.

    Rey Publico had 15 points.
