    Cagayan Valley whips Boracay Rum to get back on the winning track

    CAGAYAN Valley rebounded from its first loss of the conference with a resounding 84-54 win over Boracay Rum on Tuesday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

    The Rising Suns took a 20-7 advantage in the first quarter and never let up.

    Cagayan Valley improved its win-loss record to 5-1 after a stinging 82-78 loss to Hogs Breath Café.

    Kenneth Ighalo finished with 22 points, while Don Trollano had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and converted four-of-five from three-point range for the Rising Suns.

    Chris Banchero was the lone double digit scorer for Boracay Rum with 12 points. The Waves slipped to 2-3.

    Cagayan Valley (84) – Ighalo 22, Trollano 16, Caperal 14, Melano 9, Bringas 8, Cruz 5, Pinto 4, Jamito 2, Celada 2, Collado 2, Mabulac 0, Gonzales 0, Foronda 0.

    Boracay Rum (54) – Banchero 12, Belo 9, Bautista 7, Tagarda 7, Taha 7, Siruma 5, Arellano 2, Eguilos 2, Sabellina 2, Rosopa 1, Acibar 0, Ilagan 0, Cabrera 0.

    Quarterscores: 20-7; 49-21; 69-35; 84-54.
