ABEL Galliguez hit two triples in a critical fourth quarter stretch as Cagayan Valley stunned defending champion Blackwater Sports, 93-91, on Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO gym.
Cagayan Valley (3-4) stayed alive in its playoff bid with the win over Blackwater Sports, tying Big Chill for sixth place in the team standings.
Lord Casajeros had 23 points and Kenneth Ighalo chipped in 21 points including a three-pointer each in conspiring with Galliguez in a 12-3 stretch en route to the huge win over the reigning titlist and PBA-bound squad.
That run put the Rising Suns ahead, 86-75, with three minutes left, enough to grab the victory despite a late rally by the Elite.
