Cafe France bounces back, deals Tanduay fourth straight loss

CAFÉ France built a huge early lead then held off Tanduay Light, 69-59, to bounce back from its first loss in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on Thursday at the TIP gym.

The Bakers held the Rhum Masters to only 10 points in the first quarter before grabbing a 34-19 lead at halftime.

Jam Cortes had 12 points while Joseph Sedurifa chipped in 11 points in a balanced scoring attack for the Bakers, who recovered from a 61-66 overtime defeat to Cagayan Valley.

Café France improved its record to 4-1.

The Rhum Masters lost their fourth straight game for a 1-4 win-loss slate, joining cellar-dwellers Racal Motors, MP Hotel, and MJM M-Builders.

Café France 69 – Cortes 12, Sedurifa 11, Ahanmisi 10, Ebondo 9, Galanza 8, Huertas 6, Jeruta 5, De Leon 4, Abundo 2, Batino 0, Celso 0, Noble 0, Andrada 0.

Tanduay Light 59 – Sumang 17, Banal 8, Tagarda 7, Rono 7, Escueta 4, Mandani 4, Ignacio 4, Foronda 3, Santos 2, Belencion 2, Ilagan 1, Jumao-as 0, De Vera 0, De Leon 0.
