BREAD Story-Lyceum kept its quarterfinal bid alive with a 104-85 rout of MP Hotel on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.
The Smashing Bakers moved to sixth spot with a 4-5 win-loss card. The top two in the eliminations automatically enter semifinals, while the next four battle in the quarterfinals.
Hapee leads with a 10-0 record followed by Cagayan Valley (9-0), Café France (8-2), Jumbo Plastic (6-4) and Cebuana Lhullier (5-4).
Arellano guard Jiovani Jalalon scored 18 points, Jackson Corpuz added 17, Louie Vigil chipped in 13, while Issah Mbomiko and Nicole Bangga came up with 11 and 10, respectively, for Bread Story.
“One game at a time lang kami, our next game is against Cebuana on Thursday and it’s a big game for us,” said Bread Story-Lyceum coach Bonnie Tan.
“Every game we treat it as a championship game,” said Tan. “Alam naman natin na mahirap manalo rito so every game we’re just trying to give our best.”
Reden Celda scored 17 for MP Hotel, Hernal Escosio and Moncrief Rogado had 12 apiece, John Jamon added 11 and Russel Yaya had 10 for Warriors, who suffered their ninth loss in 10 games.
