PBA Developmental League side Boracay Rum boosted its backcourt by signing former PBA player Rudy Lingganay.
Lingganay’s contract with Globalport expired at the end of the Philippine Cup.
Boracay Rum coach Lawrence Chongson confirmed that Lingganay is now part of the Waves for the upcoming Foundation Cup set to open March 24.
“Basically, he fell on my lap,” said Chongson, in describing how they he got Lingganay after his stint with the PBA.
The former UE player reunites with Chongson, who previously coached University of the East in the UAAP.
Chongson said Lingganay’s acquisition is an upgrade to the team that missed the quarterfinals in the Aspirants Cup.
“’Yung familiarity, nandyan na. ’Yung sistema ko naman, hindi nagbago for the last five years so alam na niya ang style ko,” said Chongson.
