    Boracay Rum at last starts to make Waves

    BORACAY Rum scored its second consecutive win, defeating hapless Informatics, 74-66, on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

    Maclean Sabellina scored 10 of his 12 points in the fourth quarter while grabbing 16 rebounds for the Waves, who improved their record to 2-5 win-loss slate to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.

    Jeff Viernes topscored for the Waves with 18 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the free throw line while Roider Cabrera added 14 points and shot 4-of-6 from three-point range.

    The Icons continued their losing spell and have dropped their seventh game in a row.

    Cabrera nailed back-to-back threes in the third period to tie the game at 44 before the Waves outscored the Icons, 7-1, entering the fourth.

    Jaymo Eguilos and Raymond Ilagan had 10 points each as Boracay Rum had five players in double figures.
