BOBBY Ray Parks could see action for NLEX as early as this week with the Road Warriors missing several players from the San Beda Red Lions due to their training in Europe.
NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez bared the possibility of Parks playing for the team this Tuesday against Café France with the Road Warriors playing with a short-handed line-up.
“Probably next game,” said Fernandez, when asked last week when Parks will suit up for the Road Warriors after being included in the team’s line-up for the Foundation Cup.
Fernandez and five San Beda players have left for Lithuania in preparation for the Red Lions’ campaign in the NCAA Season 90.
That leaves the Road Warriors with nine players, with assistant coach Raymund Celis expected to call the shots for three games.
NLEX team manager Ronald Dularte, for his part, has a conservative projection as he sees Parks playing for the Red Warriors within this month.
“Actually, anytime he can play with us already. He is finalizing his school commitments. We want him to join practice para fair din naman sa iba,” said Dularte.
“I’m confident na he can play na this month,” said Dularte.
Parks is expected to join NLEX in the PBA once its application for membership is approved and a direct-hire concession is given to the Road Warriors.
