Bobby Ray Parks shows way as Hapee turns back MP Hotel to preserve unblemished slate

    Dec 22, 2014

BOBBY Ray Parks scored 18 points as league-leading Hapee Toothpaste whipped lowly MP Hotel, 84-63, on Monday in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Marikina Sports Center.

Parks provided the early spark for the Fresh Fighters with 12 points in the first quarter and his six points in the third allowed them to pull away for good to end the upset bid of the Warriors.

Hapee won its eighth game in as many outings to move closer to an outright semifinal berth.

The Fresh Fighters were down by only three points when Parks scored four straight points for a 48-41 lead before the Fresh Fighters started the fourth with a 7-0 run for a 66-49 advantage.

Hapee coach Ronnie Magsanoc wasn’t satisfied with his wards’ defensive effort as the Warriors came within, 41-44.

“We weren’t defending the way we were supposed to,” said Magsanoc. “I thought MP Hotel played its best basketball today.”
