BLACKWATER Sports signed up Adamson’s Don Trollano and John Pinto of Arellano in a bid to beef up its roster for the coming PBA D-League Foundation Cup where the Elite are the defending champions.
Trollano and Pinto were acquired by the team after their stint with Cagayan Valley last conference where they were considered the top guards of the franchise.
The signing of both Trollano and Pinto came after Reil Cervantes also hooked up with the Elite in the team’s hope of defending its crown in what could be its final conference in the league after mother company Ever Bilena Inc. applied for a franchise in the PBA.
Blackwater coach Leo Isaac said the team’s intention to join the PBA would hopefully serve as a motivation for the Elite’s two acquisitions.
“This is a chance for them to make the PBA,” Isaac said.
Blackwater Sports missed the Finals of the Aspirants Cup after losing to Big Chill in a do-or-die game for the last championship berth, although Isaac refused to dwell on the defeat.
“Mataas ang morale (ng team). We don’t dwell on the past. We look forward to a good conference,” said the former Ginebra player.
